The Slater City Council is considering the possibility of applying for a Climate Pollution Reduction Grant.

The Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission made the City and council aware that Slater could qualify for the grant funding. The funding would likely be used for solar fields to help reduce emissions. No action was taken during the October 17 meeting. The council will discuss this further in a future meeting.

In other news, tree trimming and hydrant flushing are beginning on the west side of Slater soon. Trimming occurs to the west of Main Street. The city urges citizens to not leave leaves in the street and dispose of the properly.

Also the Slate Fall Festival is scheduled for October 19-21. It was reported that around 12 food vendors and numerous beverage vendors will be available for the festival.
