
The Saline County Career Center Future Business Leaders of America Chapter took part in a state-wide observance of FBLA Day on Wednesday, October 18. This day was signified by a proclamation from Governor Michael Parson.
FBLA Day recognizes the contributions of FBLA, the nation’s largest youth business organization, to student success. SCCC business students wore FBLA colors of blue and gold to celebrate. The chapter has already been hard at work for the
2023 – 2024 school year with 42 members. The year began with the executive officer team meeting to create a yearly program of work.
Officers recruited new members with a booth at Marshall High School during the lunch shifts on September 1. New and returning members gathered for a welcome back to school pizza party at the Indian Foothills Park where a complimentary meal and games were provided. Members traveled to Kansas City for Career Day at the K where students learned about business related careers within the Royals organization and enjoyed a baseball game. For Homecoming, members decorated a float and distributed candy.
The chapter is represented one district officer, Holly Huston serves as the district president. A planning day for the district at the Grand River Technical School in Chillicothe was attended by chapter adviser Tracy Crumbaugh. A chapter meeting has been held each month where members gather to plan continual career and service focused events throughout the school year.
