The Missouri Department of Transportation will host a public meeting Thursday, Nov. 9th from 6p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Northwestern’s School Districts’ Commons area in Mendon.

MODOT will share information and give residents the chance to ask questions regarding the recent safety study of BNSF’s Marceline Subdivision on the rail corridor that carries freight and Amtrak’s Southwest Chief passenger train.

The meeting will share recent recommendations identified during during the safety evaluation with an engineering consultant present as well to give feedback and recommendations by the public.

The meeting will give recommendations pointing out specific safety improvements for both passenger vehicles and trains.
