
The Sedalia Police Department arrested a armed man who was wandering in the roadway on October 19.
According to the department, officers were dispatched to a block on South Limit Avenue in reference to a male subject walking in traffic.
Officer attempted to make contact with the subject, but determined him to be under the influence of an illegal substance. The subject, identified as 31-year-old Linden Bennett, then attempted to run out into traffic.
Officers tackled Bennett to keep him from being hit by traffic in the roadway. Bennett began resisting and pulled a handgun from his waist. The firearm was thrown into the street during the struggle and Bennett was taken into custody without further incident.
Bennett has been charged with felonies for unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting arrest. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
No court dates have been set at this time.
