The Slater School District Board of Education held a discussion with the CTA committee about the possibility of moving to a four day school week during its meeting on Tuesday, October 24.

The board held this discussion before adjourning after closed session. Superintendent Terry Lorenz said the CTA is interested in putting out an informational survey to see what the public thinks about a four-day school week.

The board gave the CTA permission to move forward with the survey. The CTA will report the findings back to the board during a future meeting.

In other news, Lorenz reported that the district has been awarded a $50,000 school safety grant. These funds will go towards replacing doors and purchasing security cameras.
