Gary Warren Bartel, 64, of Marshall, MO, formerly of Concordia, died Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall.  Burial will follow in Salt Fork Cemetery near Nelson.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia or DaVita Dialysis in Marshall.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born September 29, 1959, in Boonville, he was the son of the late William Warren Bartel and Mary Ann Cook Bartel who survives of Concordia.  Gary was a 1977 graduate of Laura Speed Elliott High School in Boonville and then earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Gary worked as an electrical engineer with computer emphasis and obtained his professional engineering certification.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.  Gary enjoyed coin collecting, and also playing cards and board games with family and friends.

In addition to his mother, Mary Ann Bartel of Concordia; he is survived by one sister, Karen Bartel of Marshall; one brother, Kevin Bartel (Beverly) of Sandy, UT; one nephew, Jackson Bartel; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, William Warren Bartel.
