A seven-year-old juvenile pedestrian was moderately injured after being struck by a rolling vehicle on Wednesday, October 25.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the juvenile was hiding behind the left front wheel of a Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle was parked, but the manual transmission allowed the vehicle to roll back and strike the juvenile.

The seven-year-old was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The incident occurred at 8:28 p.m. in Pettis County.
