According to the Missouri Public Service Commission natural gas rates are set to change for Ameren Missouri customers starting Nov. 1st.

The current residential rate of pay is approximately 63 cents per ccf, ( per hundred cubic feet) this rate is set to decrease to 60 cents ccf.

The commission states that generally 50-55% of natural gas used in residents reflects the cost of natural gas from wholesale suppliers.

Currently the wholesale cost of natural gas that is supplied to your local suppliers is not regulated by the Commission. The prices are generally driven by supply, demand and weather factors.

However, the commission does an annual regulatory review to ensure the natural gas companies make prudent decision in the securing of natural gas supplies for their customers.
