
The Warrensburg Police Department responded to reported gunshots at an area park on Friday, October 27.
According to the department, officers were dispatched to the area of Marr Park in Warrensburg to investigate a report of gun shots. Officers were also notified of a motor vehicle crash in that area as well.
The juvenile occupant of the vehicle involved with the accident was suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The juvenile was transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City by Life Flight. The juvenile did reportedly survive the incident.
As officers were processing the crime scene and the accident, a subject identified as Gage Gleason approached officer and admitted to being involved in the incident.
Gleason told authorities that he and the juvenile were meeting for a drug transaction. When both parties had a disagreement, Gleason shot the juvenile, allegedly firing more than once.
Authorities obtained a warrant on Gleason for assault in the first degree, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. The bond for the warrant is $75,000.
