An inmate in the Cooper County Detention Center was found deceased on October 27, 2023.

According to Cooper County Sheriff Chris Class, 33-year-old Brooke Bailey was found deceased in a cell. Bailey was being held on a Court ordered commit to the Department of Mental Health.

The investigation is on-going. An autopsy has been scheduled. The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office and the Cooper County Coroner’s Officer are assisting in the investigation.
