Hands-on opportunities will include equipment demonstrations, how to check hens to determine if they are still laying, and processing, candling and grading of eggs.
Cost is $30, additional members of the immediate family may attend for $10 each. Preregistration is required, and enrollment is limited to 30. An additional session may be scheduled if more than 30 people register.
“Whether you have just a few chickens in your backyard or you have a bustling farmer’s market egg business, there will be something for you to learn,” said Tatijana Fisher, state poultry specialist with Lincoln University Extension.
4-H and FFA youths are encouraged to attend; 4-H students will receive four poultry project hours for attending the workshop.
