An area man was injured in a crash in Lafayette County after being rear-ended by an unknown vehicle on Sunday, November 5.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when an unknown vehicle struck the rear end of a vehicle driven by 59-year-old Gregory Houck. Houck lost control of his vehicle and traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck the median cable barrier, and overturned. The unknown vehicle left the scene of the crash.

Houck was transported to Centerpoint Hospital by Higginsville EMS for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash occurred at 10:50 p.m. on eastbound I-70 at Mile Marker 46 in Lafayette County.
