Betty Louise Drake, 97, of Marshall, MO, passed away, Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Greg Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Born October 3, 1926, in Miami, MO, she was the daughter of the late Larry Delaney Bacon and Louise Williams Bacon. She lived in Marshall most of her life and on July 31, 1946, she married Robert F. Drake who preceded her in death on January 19, 1979. She retired from the Marshall Habilitation Center after 23 years of service. She enjoyed quilting, cake decorating and shopping at Wal-Mart. She loved being with family.

Survivors include five children: Phyllis Fisher of Sedalia, Brenda Persinger of Liberty, MO, Steve Drake (Kristi) of Glasgow, Dicky Drake (Laurie) and Mary Mikle of Marshall; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Fern Vogel of Gladstone, MO; one brother, John Bacon (Vicki) of Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Thomas “Red” Ballew; one daughter, Karen Land; one grandson, Marvin Wesley Witcher; one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Persinger Makings; one great-granddaughter Bailey Bakert; one great-great-grandson, Kenneth Hoyes; eight sisters, Ruth Meyers, Joicy Riley, Jewel Smith, Lucille Clouser, Shirley Bacon, Nora “Nip” Bacon, Linda Sue Harper and Wilma “Jo” Keck; and two brothers, Robert Bacon and Joseph Bacon.
