
The Pilot Grove City Council met Monday evening November 6. Mayor Knipp addressed the council members of last months financial statements. Mayor Knipp did say there was on discrepancy in the ledger that himself and the city clerk are still investigating at this time.
Knipp talked about the Sidewalk project that also had an ordinance attached to it read by City Clerk Lori Vollrath and approved by the council.
The council discussed the proposed marijuana tax being put on this years ballot, it was agreed to table the issue after Mayor Knipp had more information on next months scheduled meeting to present to the council.
Council member Kathy Waller also discussed with the council the Pilot Grove Betterment Committee’s requests for the upcoming Christmas season. “Christmas in the Grove” with events such as community tree lighting, home tours, community home contests, as well as local business decorating displays were visited about among the council.
An amendment to the MECO engineering Agreement was mentioned as well as MECO representative Dan Uhlig present to discuss the upcoming meeting the Mayor has with the Ann Black representative from CDBG and Denise Greenwith RD who were both previously involved with the original financing of the sewer project.
Finally, the council discussed trash pick up procedures promised to some residents and businesses in town that were different from all residents under the current trash contract. It was discussed that Mayor Knipp was going to talk to the City’s trash service for alternatives and information for a proposed new trash ordnance to be discussed at next months meeting.
