An arrest was made by the Marshall Police department after a juvenile had been struck with a a vehicle.

“A juvenile stated he attempted to avoid collision as he stated he tried putting his hands in front driver- side corner of the vehicle, as he stepped out of the way. and was struck by the driver-side mirror”- reported Marshall Police Officer.

The juvenile was transported by EMS for evaluation.

The driver was identified as Jared Alan Smith of Marshall. Smith stated to officers he was not in an accident and admitted to consuming beers.

Smith was arrested and a probable cause statement was forwarded to the Saline County Prosecutor’s office for review.

All detainees are considered innocent until proven guilty.
