A question on the Chariton County Special Election ballot failed to pass on Tuesday, November 7.

Chariton County voters made a decision on Proposition One, which asked if the Public Water Supply District Number 2 of Chariton County should sell its assets to Missouri-American Water Company and thereafter be dissolved as provided by law.

According to unofficial election results, 58.89 percent of voters voted “Yes,” and 41.11 percent said “No.”

66 percent was required for the Proposition to pass.
