The Sedalia City Council authorized a grant submission by the Sedalia Fire Department for the construction of a new fire station.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw says one of the city’s current stations has outlived its useful life.

The cost of the project is about six million dollars. The council authorized the fire department to complete the application process for the 2024 Department of Public Safety CIIEG Grant.

The council also approved several agreements. The council approved an agreement with Wilson and Company in the amount of $239,605 for the Safe Streets and Roads for All Action Plan. The council also approved a $2,967,949 agreement with Burns and McDonnell for Central Plant Aeration upgrades.
