The Salisbury Board of Aldermen considered a ballot question for the April 2024 election during its most recent meeting.
The ballot question is regarding a three percent sales tax on all tangible personal property retail sales of adult use marijuana sold within the city of Salisbury. The city is looking for voter approval during the April 2, 2024 election.
The board passed the first reading of that ordinance. Many other cities have approved similar sales tax questions during previous elections.
In other news, the board approved an event request from Salisbury Main Street to hold the annual Miracle on Broadway event and parade from 2 to 6 p.m. December 2.
The board also accepted a bid from Perry Heating and Cooling in the amount of $2,500 for a new heating system in the Salisbury Police Department garage.
