
The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved motions to replace several items during its meeting on Thursday, November 16.
The board considered two bids to replace a bucket truck for the Electric Distribution Department. The old truck is 13 years old and has about 30,000 miles and 6,400 engine hours. Bids were opened on November 7 and two were received.
After some discussion over the two bids, the board approved a motion to accept the bid from Altec Industries in the amount of $397,225. The delivery time for the new truck is 48 months.
The board also approved a motion to purchase a new shop welder for the Electric Production Department. The new welder would replace a 25 year old unit that was already purchased used.
There was a price increase from the original quote, and the new quote is $598.89 over budget. After some discussion, the board approved a motion to purchase the new shop welder.
