The State Fair Community College Theatre Arts program offers a two-night public performance of “Junie B. Jones: The Musical” at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19.

This comical musical created by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, is an adaptation of four of Author, Barbara Park’s best-selling books. SFCC Theatre Instructor and Program Coordinator Kristen Henning will direct the musical. SFCC Theatre’s second production this fall has already successfully performed to large audiences during their school group performance on Nov.13-17. This production is recommended for ages four and up.

The 60-minute musical follows Junie B.’s first day of first grade as she finds out that a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, does not want to be her best friend anymore, and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard, and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at SFCCTheatre.Eventbrite.com or by calling the Box Office at (660) 530-5814 from 2-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. SFCC students and employees may reserve tickets for performances at no cost in the Box Office. Wheelchair seating is available upon request.
