MODOT announced a statewide statement announcing for Missouri motorist to be prepared. This seasons’ first winter weather precipitation is forecasted as a light snow mix late Saturday ( November 25) evening into Sunday( November 26). The National Weather Service predicts a possibility of wet snow along N-I-70 although, warm ground temps will likely limit accumulations.
MODOT want drivers to be prepared and plan ahead for their weekend travels and to watch local forecasts for updates. Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution when traveling during and after precipitation, leave early, slow down, and buckle up without unnecessary distractions. Travelers are encouraged to be aware when traveling over bridges and overpasses as well.
MODOT says they believe that the pavement temperatures will be above freezing still, they will continue to monitor roadways and and have crews standing by.
