Have a large evergreen that needs removed? Donate it to MDC for use as a Christmas tree outside the governor’s mansion.

Governor Mike Parsons and First Lady Teresa Parson invite families to attend this year’s Candlelight Tours and annual tree lighting ceremony at the Missouri Governor’s Mansion on Friday December 1 starting at 6pm. The Candlelight Tours are free and open to the public and visitors can enter through the Madison Street Gate.

The annual lighting of the tree this year will be followed up with Candlelight Tours at the Governor’s Mansion.

A Toys for Tots representative will also be in attendance during the holiday tours to accept new unwrapped toys or monetary contributions to support Missouri children this Holiday Season.

On Friday the Bolivar High School Choir will perform on the Mansion steps beginning at 530pm just prior to the tree lighting scheduled at 6pm.  The theme this year is “Standing United: A salute to Christmas.”  During this years tours, visitors will be able to walk throughout the festively decorated ground floor of the Governors Mansion as well. The Candlelight tours will also continue on Monday December 4 from 6pm-8pm.
