A Marshall man has been charged with a felony after an incident on Saturday, November 25.

According to the Marshall Police Department, a victim reported an attempted break-in during the early morning hours of Sunday, November 26. Police arrived on scene and arrested Eric Gilmore.

Police interviewed the victim and learned that she and Gilmore got into an argument while driving together in Marshall. The victim pulled over and tried to Gilmore to leave the vehicle , which caused Gilmore to get physical.

Gilmore reportedly squeezed the victim’s throat and scratched her face in the vehicle before exiting on foot. Officers were able to photograph the victim’s injuries. Gilmore would later try to break into the residence that night.

Gilmore has been charged with a felony for domestic assault in the third degree, and misdemeanors for domestic assault in the fourth degree and property damage in the second degree. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash only.

Gilmore is due for an initial appearance at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, at Saline County Circuit Court.
