Johnson County authorities arrested a Centerview man after a reported disturbance on November 24.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to a disturbance at 7:26 p.m.in the city limits of Centeriew. Witnesses told authorities that David Edwards had been in the middle of the road, yelling about harming others while holding a crossbow. Witnesses on the scene told authorities that they felt threatened by Edwards and feared for their safety.

Edwards also reportedly unhooked someone’s dog and left the property with the dog with out permission. The dog was later returned to its owner.

Edwards was located near the scene and arrested for the incidents.

Edwards has been charged with felonies for harassment in the first degree and stealing an animal. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only.

A counsel status hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, at Johnson County Circuit Court.
