The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office arrested a subject that was in operation of a stolen vehicle on Wednesday, November 29.

According to a probable cause statement, a deputy located a stolen vehicle pull into the parking lot of a Sedalia hotel and went to confront the driver. The driver, identified as Chelsea Klein, was taken into custody.

Authorities searched Klein’s room and found a glass methamphetamine pipe with residue and a white crystal substance.

Court documents say Klein has been charged with felonies for tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

Arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 12 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
