The Sedalia Police Department arrested a Smithton woman after a reported disturbance on Saturday, December 2.

According to the department, officers were dispatched to a physical disturbance where the victim claimed that Heather Staus barged into his residence, trashed his room, and hit him in the mouth. Police noted that Staus was intoxicated.

Police arrested Staus and placed her on a 24-hour hold.

Staus has been charged with felonies for domestic assault in the third degree and burglary in the second degree. Bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety.

No court dates have been set at this time.
