The Higginsville Board of Aldermen held a public hearing to discuss ideas regarding a Climate Pollution Reduction grant during its meeting on Monday, December 4.

This was the third public hearing and brainstorming session regarding this grant. The board accepted several ideas for what the city should pursue the grant for. The application deadline is December 12.

The board also approved meeting date changes in January. The board will meet on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, and Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to the New Year’s Holiday and Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

Also, filing for the April 2, 2024 election has begun and the board has several positions up for election. Mayor Don Knehans, Ward 1 alderman Lee Barker, Ward 2 alderman David Wagner, and Ward 3 alderman Daryl Augustine are up for election.
