Governor Mike Parson has signed a proclamation recognizing December 7, 2023 as Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
Imperial Japanese Navy and Air Force units attacked Pearl Harbor on this day in 1941, which led to more than 2,400 Americans losing their lives. The attack also caused the United States to get involved in World War II.
More than 450,000 Missourians served throughout the war. This proclamation marks the 82nd anniversary of the attack, and is a great opportunity to honor the 6,800 living World War II veterans in the State.
