
The Higginsville Police Department arrested a subject after being dispatched to a car stopped in the middle of an intersection
According to the department, officers arrived at the intersection of 31st Street and Hickory Street in reference to a person slumped over behind the wheel, stopped in the middle of the road blocking traffic.
There was also a toddler in the backseat of the vehicle.
Officers made contact with the driver, identified as Patrick Frerking.
Officers noted that Frerking’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot, and the vehicle smelled like alcohol.
Frerking refused a preliminary breath test, but was allegedly swaying and was off-balance.
Officers found several unopened whisky bottles and some prescription narcotics in the vehicle as well.
Frerking was arrested and taken into custody.
A breath test revealed a result of .108 BAC.
Frerking had been charged with felonies for endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $45,000 cash only.
