The Higginsville Board of Aldermen voted to renew a mutual aid agreement with the Missouri Public Utility Alliance during its meeting on Monday, December 18.

City Administrator Jeanette Dobson says the agreement helps with mutual aid for the entire MPUA group.

In other news, aldermen approved several appointments to the Historic Preservation Commission. Deb Krieger and Jill Sutherland were appointed to serve one-year terms (from January 2024 to December 2024), Sarah Berry and Sevier Hoefer were appointed to serve two-year terms (from January 2024 to December 2025), and Aaron Knipmeyer, Helen Moore, and Marty Wood were appointed to serve for three years (January 2024 to December 2026).

Also, Daryl Augustine was selected as Board of Aldermen Liaison, Mark Nolte was appointed as Planning Commission Liaison, and Sandi Stephens was appointed as the City of Higginsville Liaison.

Higginsville City Hall will be closed on December 25, 2023 and January 1, 2025, in celebration of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.
