The Missouri State Troopers were dispatched to a rollover crash on Westbound interstate 70.

Troopers responded to a call from a witness stating that the victim of the rollover crash had stolen a passerby’s vehicle.

Officers were able to locate the victim of the stolen vehicle.

The victim stated that a man had stolen their vehicle after they stopped to check and help the suspect.

Officers were able to identify the suspect as Alden Cooper.

The Missouri State Highway patrol pursued a chase from mile marker 32, to Jackson County. Highway Patrol pursued Cooper until Topeka Kansas, where Kansas Highway Patrol was able detain him and take him into custody.

Cooper was issued uniform citations for an invalid driver’s license, and failure to drive within a single lane; resulting in a crash.

Cooper was also charged for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the first degree, tampering in the first degree, stealing, possession of stolen property, vehicle hijacking, and kidnapping in the first degree.

The incident occurred at 8:15 a.m. December 16 in Lafayette County.
