The Sedalia Police Department arrested a murder suspect from Illinois on December 19.

Detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit executed an arrest warrant in the 1300 block of North Missouri Avenue. The warrant was issued out of Illinois for murder in the first degree.

Detectives made contact and detained the suspect without incident. 23-year-old Malik Davis was wanted in connection to a homicide out of Elgin, Illinois. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he awaits extradition.

An additional state charge of Fugitive From Justice was submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office.
