Anna G. Charles Bargfrede, 84, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, died Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Warrensburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs.  Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Moose Charities or American Legion Auxiliary Unit 279.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born November 14, 1939, in Emporia, KS, she was the daughter of the late Cecil N. Charles and Minnie Langewisch Charles.  Anna lived in the rural Sweet Springs area most of her life, was a 1957 graduate of Houstonia High School, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church.  On October 18, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs, she married Marvin E. Bargfrede who preceded her in death on April 3, 2011.  Anna worked for Berry and Smith Clothing Store for several years, then as a cook for the Sweet Springs Public School, in addition to being a homemaker for her family.  Anna and Marvin were avid dancers and won many dance competitions at the Missouri State Fair.  Anna was a member of Women of the Moose Lodge in Lexington.

Survivors include two children, Wanda Diane Crank (Derrick) of Concordia and Randall Dean Bargfrede (Sandy) of rural Sweet Springs; four grandsons: Christopher Bargfrede (Dawn), Justin Crank (Stephanie), Jesse Crank (Allison) and Trent Bargfrede; six great-grandchildren: Jase Crank, Baylor Crank, Skylar Bargfrede, Carson Bargfrede, Charlotte Crank and Harper Crank; six siblings: Harry Charles (Betty) of Lockwood, Elva Turner of Oak Grove, Clyde Charles (Sharon) of Lexington, John Charles (Lena) of Sweet Springs, Mary Stockdale (George) of Independence and Marilyn Fangman (Kenny) of Sweet Springs; her significant other, Vernon Weinrich of Warrensburg; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; four siblings: Harold Charles, Frank Charles, Clarence Charles and Carolyn Fiedler; four nephews and one niece.
