The Sedalia City Council approved the purchases of three garbage trucks during its meeting on Monday, December 18.

Two of the trucks were side loader garbage trucks, while the third was a read load truck. City Administrator Kelvin Shaw said the trucks the city currently use are unreliable and have given the city issues.

The council planned to address this issue during next year’s budget planning, but has to speed up the process. The council approved the side loader truck purchases in the amount of $757,800; and the rear loader in the amount of $267,364.95.

The delivery time on the trucks is expected to be in mid-January 2024.
