The Sedalia City Council considered a ballot question for the April 2, 2024 General Municipal Election.

The council held a discussion over whether the term length for each council member should be two years, or four years. The current term length for a Sedalia City Council member is two years.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw said that state statute allows for four-year terms, but the change would require voter approval.

The ballot question will be on the General Municipal Election ballot on April 2, 2024.
