The Grain Valley Police Department responded to a shooting at a home in the 700 block of South West Woodland Circle, on December 25.

After arriving at the scene Grain Valley Police found a victim shot dead inside the home.

Police were able to detain the suspect of the shooting, without incident. The suspect is currently in custody for questioning.

The shooting was established to be a domestic violence assault between a father and a son.

The Grain Valley Police Department expresses that this is an isolated domestic incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The Grain Valley Police Department will continue to release information as the investigation progresses and updates become available.

Names of the victim and suspect will be released at a later time.
