The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved a bid for a new vacuum excavator during its meeting on Thursday, December 28.

Bids were opened on December 13, and two were received. The board decided to approve the low-bid from Vermeer Great Plains in the amount of $101,945.17. Delivery time is around 3-4 months. This replaces a unit from 2008 with 1,150 hours.

In other news, the board approved a water service request for a residence on South Lincoln Avenue. This residence is outside city limits and has been released by Public Water Service District 3.
