The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a car accident on December 26.

According to the MSHP the crash occurred as a vehicle driven by 69-year-old Raymond Smith, traveled off the roadway and struck multiple trees, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.

Smith was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Chariton County Coroner.

The crash occurred at 8 P.M in Chariton county, at MO 5 and Locke Road, 3 miles south of Marceline.
