The Howard County Sheriff’s Department conducted an arrest on December 25.

Howard County Sheriff’s state that they observed a vehicle operating north on Highway 87.

Police stated they noticed odd driving behavior from the driver. This led to a traffic stop.

Police made contact with the driver and passengers, and recognized one of the passengers from Previous law enforcement contact. Police were able to identify the passenger as 43-year-old Joshua Gerlach.

Gerlach had an active warrant through the Howard County Sheriff’s office, and was placed under arrest at the scene.

Police conducted a body search on Gerlach where they located a cigarette box with a tin foil  wrapper and a white crystal ball inside of it.

Howard County field tested the substance and it came back as positive for methamphetamine.

Gerlach has several prior drug related offenses.

Gerlach is in Howard County custody, and was charged with possession of a controlled substance

Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.
