The Ray County Sheriff’s office was dispatched to a disturbance involving a firearm.

Upon arrival, police stated they made contact with the calling party, and were explained that they had cut the catalytic converter to their own vehicle to see how loud it was.

The calling party victim states that neighbor, Amy Jo Barnes had come out of her house and yelled at the victim to stop racing the vehicle on the street.

The victim states that Barnes advised them that if they continued to race the car down the road, that she would shoot the vehicle’s tires out.

The victim stated that another suspect by the name of Dirk Lee Swords, had walked down the street to the victim’s vehicle with a gun in his hand. The victim stated that once they were approached by Swords, they sped away from the scene.

Police were able to make contact with Barnes, as she stated that she was tired of the car noises on the street. When police asked Barnes about the threats, she confirmed the accusation.
