The Cooper County Sheriff’s office conducted an arrest on December 23.

According to the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, they conducted a traffic stop on Highway 5, south of Fairview Road in Cooper County.

Police were able to come in contact with the driver, in which they were able to identify as 57-year-old Boyd Thomas Drury Jr.

Police questioned Boyd, and noticed nervous behavior.

This led PD to request access from Boyd  to search the vehicle.

No contraband was found in the search.

Police requested the assistance of a police service dog to conduct a drug detection search.

The canine was able to locate a ziploc bag in Boyds pants that contained a crystal-like substance.

Boyd was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest by the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office.

Boyd was charged with a delivered controlled substance Class C Felony.

Bond is set at $200,000 cash or surety.
