The Marshall City Council convened in a session on January 16, addressing various municipal matters. During the session, a dedicated time for audience comments allowed the public to voice concerns.

Most concerns were particularly regarding the Saline Animal League. A concerned citizen inquired about the city’s plan for shelter animals in the event of overpopulation, emphasizing the challenge of finding adoptive homes, for the animals of the Saline Animal League shelter.

In response, Mayor Lutterbie assured the public that the city is committed to establishing a no-kill shelter. Lutterbie outlined plans to collaborate with numerous rescue organizations to address the issue of overpopulation, specifically focusing on the animals from the Saline Animal League.

The Mayor shared that discussions have already taken place with organizations expressing interest in providing assistance. Additionally, he expressed a desire for the city to forge a partnership with the Saline Animal League, aiming to enhance efforts in finding suitable homes for the animals in need.
