The Slater City Council discussed a sewer lining project for 2024 during its meeting on Tuesday, January 16.

The council voted to continue its sewer lining project in 2024. The city is doing about 5,700 feet of sewer for the year. City Administrator Gene Griffith said the cost keeps going up.

The total cost of the project is $220,000 with the increases factored in.

In other news, the council approved a meter charge increase. The charge is increasing from $5 to $10 effective the April 1, 2024. Griffith reported that there had not been an increase since 2016.
