Born January 5, 1951, in Bunker, MO, he was the son of the late James Floyd Williams and Juanita Flossie Craft Williams. On May 27, 1972, he married Mary Ellen Samson who preceded him in death on March 10, 2006. George lived in Marshall his entire life and began working at a very young age to help the family. He worked for Samson Farms, Banquet Foods and then for 27 years at Marshall Municipal Utilities until he retired. After retirement he continued that hard work ethic and worked part time for Eskew Trucking. George was an avid race fan, and in fact, anything that involved a motor, he was all about it. Many people will remember George’s smile, kindness, and his well known, “yessir” and “yessum.”
Survivors include three children: Tiffany Williams Horn (Gary “Lardo” Eskew) of rural Marshall, Amanda Williams Simmons (Eddie “Meat Head” Simmons) of Marshall and Christopher George Williams of the home; nine grandchildren: Brittany, Summer, Trent, Dustyn, Tomoko, Ashley, Haley, Kayla and Kera; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers: Dwight Mikels of rural Marshall, James Williams of Collinsville, OK and Kenneth Williams of Owasso, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by three sisters: Thelma Rae Williams, Nelda Hayes and Margaret Kathleen Mullins; and one brother, Emmit Williams.
