
The Saline County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Marshall man after attempting to break into a residence and a vehicle on January 18, 2024.
According to a probable cause statement, Chad Gilmore attempted to break into a residence in Saline County. Gilmore allegedly kicked the front door while holding what appeared to be a lug wrench. Gilmore then moved away from the front door and broke the windshield of a car parked near the residence.
Gilmore’s actions reportedly caused damage to the front door of the residence, in addition to the damages caused to the vehicle.
Authorities located Gilmore at his residence, where he was placed under arrest. He was allegedly exhibiting behavior of someone under the influence of a controlled substance. Gilmore admitted to breaking the windshield and kicking the victim’s front door.
Court documents say Gilmore has been charged with felonies for attempted burglary in the first degree and unlawful use of a weapon-exhibiting. Bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety.
No court dates have been set at this time.
