John C. Murphy, 61, of rural Gilliam, died Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Graveside services will be Friday, February 2, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at Slater City Cemetery, with Rev. Paul List officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials are suggested to the Cooperative Workshop in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born July 13, 1962 in Denison, Iowa, he was the son of the late Francis H. and Christian Hay Murphy.

He is survived by a brother, William “Bill” Murphy of rural Gilliam; three sisters, Pat Egesdal of Moberly, Mary Funk of St. Joseph, and Georgia Bennett of Dike, Iowa.

Mr. Murphy attended Slater Christian Church, and worked at the Cooperative Workshop in Marshall.
