The Howard County Sheriff’s Department arrested a subject with active warrant on January 25.

According to the department, deputies observed a red sedan driving on South Missouri Street in New Franklin. The license plate on the sedan was obstructed and unreadable.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the sedan on South Missouri Street near East Mokane Street. Deputies contacted the driver and requested he have a seat in their patrol car. While the Deputy was talking to the driver, the female passenger, identified as Faith Cunningham exited the sedan and began to walk away from the traffic stop. The Deputy exited his patrol vehicle and told Cunningham to return to the car. Cunningham began to run and ran behind a residence on South Missouri Street.

The Deputy gave chase on foot and requested emergency back-up. A short time later, the deputy was able to apprehend Cunningham. The Deputy ran Cunningham’s information, and she came back with an active felony arrest warrant and an active misdemeanor arrest warrant out of Howard County.

Cunningham was transported to The Howard County Detention Center where she was booked in for the warrants. She was charged with a felony for resisting arrest for a felony. Bond was set at $20,000 cash only.
