Starting February 5, 2024, the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will initiate bridge rehabilitation on U.S. Highway 50 in Johnson County, specifically at the bridge over the railroad in Knob Noster.
The project aims to replace the bridge deck on the westbound bridge over Union Pacific Railroad, located 1.2 miles east of Missouri Route 23 and 0.5 miles west of Route D.
Traffic implications include daily single lane closures in both eastbound and westbound directions on Highway 50, with median crossovers directing westbound traffic onto the eastbound bridge.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution, slow down, and stay alert while driving through the work zones, as the construction may entail temporary lane closures for quick repairs or debris removal from the roadway.
