Ruth B. Murdock, 95, of Slater, died Monday, February 12, 2024 at The Living Center in Marshall.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slater, with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating.  Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery, with Larry Murdock, Wess Murdock, Tim Murdock, Jason Rinne, Adam Portzen, and Jason Weiker serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Jennings, Butch Murdock, Tim Cornine, and Colby Rinehart.  Visitation will be from 9:00 until 9:45 Saturday at the church, with the recitation of the Rosary at 9:45 at the church.  Memorials are suggested to St.

Joseph Catholic Church or American Cancer Society in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born December 15, 1928 in rural Gilliam, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Lucille Klekamp Kapeller.  On November 18, 1947 in Slater, she married James Russell Murdock, and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2017.

She is survived by a son, Larry Murdock and his wife Linda of rural Marshall; a daughter-in-law, Amy Murdock of Marshall; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, James “Jim” Murdock; and a brother, Leander Kapeller.

Mrs. Murdock was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Altar & Rosary Sodality.  She was a 1947 graduate of Slater High School. She had lived north of Slater in the High Hill area for many years, and was an avid gardener.
