Pettis County Joint Communications has recently become a member of a prestigious initiative aimed at safeguarding the children of Sedalia and Pettis County. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) spearheads the Missing Kids Readiness Program, which champions best practices for responding to reports of missing, abducted, and sexually exploited children. By meeting stringent training and policy requirements outlined by NCMEC, 911 call centers and law enforcement agencies are recognized for their preparedness in handling missing child incidents.

To fulfill the criteria of the program, Pettis County Joint Communications collaborated closely with NCMEC to enhance their missing child policy, ensuring alignment with the essential elements of NCMEC’s model policy for call center agencies. This proactive approach underscores Pettis County Joint Communications’ unwavering commitment to prioritizing the safety and protection of children within their community.

Equipped with the invaluable knowledge, resources, and operational strategies gained through their participation in the program, Pettis County Joint Communications is now better positioned to respond comprehensively, and effectively in situations where a child’s well-being may be at risk.
